Most spinal misalignments (subluxations) produce no pain at all – in fact 85% of the time when your neck is out of alignment, there is no neck pain. However; the effects can be far reaching on the brain and on your health.
We often don’t relate other health issues to the neck, or think about it as a cause for those health problems.
The causes of neck subluxations (misalignments) range from an accident or whiplash, through to simply things like posture, sleep or stress.
What might the effects be?
Anxiety, brain fog, headaches, poor sleep, loss of energy, difficulty concentrating, headaches, migraines, dysautonomia, blood pressure, arm pain/ tingling, vertigo, tinnitus,
What about the Vagus nerve?
Yes. As the vagus nerves comes from the brain and passes in front of C1 (the atlas), the vagus nerve function can be affected,
Because the vagus nerve is the main highway of the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) nervous system, structural interference disrupts its ability to calm the body. This creates several systemic changes. Some of these effects may include the gut, systemic inflammation, and HRV changes.
What about spinal degeneration?
This will happen. Your spine only needs to be misaligned for a few short months and degeneration will begin to occur in the joints.
How would I know?
Get your spine checked. Once its corrected – maintain it.
When the cervical spine has better function, the brain is better connected to the body and we have less interference to the nerve system, people report better health and vitality. They also tend to respond more appropriately to stress and life challenges. This leads to better health, clearer thinking, better decisions, and a greater sense of vitality.
Many of you would have experienced this.
